Professionals in Conflict Resolution The Maryland Council for Dispute Resolution (MCDR) is a vibrant not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, certified by the internal Revenue Service as being tax-exempt. MCDR has been in operation since 1990, achieving the tax-exempt status in 1999. MCDR is devoted to the personal and professional growth of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) practitioners in the state of Maryland.

- Education and Sharing through Master classes, on-line discussion, list-serve, and website. Speakers at our quarterly meetings are expert on a variety of topics including but not limited to: The Power of Apology in Mediation, Narrative Mediation, Ethical Issues for Mediators, Mediation in the Federal Government, and Senior Mediation.
- Performance Based Mediator Certification is a voluntary process for experienced mediators to gain valuable feedback that promotes professional growth and skill building. MCDR certification is your stepping stone to international certification through the IMI.
- Advocacy for mediation and mediators through monitoring and participation in changes to court processes and legislation that affect our profession.
